Designed by Sauerbruch Hutton in 2010; - Modern art of the 20th and 21st centuries deserves an appropriate setting, with a building and its furniture that is just as modern. Berlin architects Sauerbruch Hutton were thus faced with an exciting challenge when asked to design the Museum Brandhorst in Munich. Three different seating solutions were developed for the museum that opened in 2009 – for the cafeteria, the foyer, the conference and lecture rooms as well as the lounge. ClassiCon developed the designs to the point of series production in close collaboration with the architects. Frame of solid wood, clearly varnished or black-stained. Yonoh presents a sofa and armchair duo with a Japanese touch. The concept, as its name suggests, takes its inspiration from the powerful silhouette of sumo wrestlers, contrasted with the light wooden clogs that they use to and from the ring (dohyō). The strong curves and reduced dimensions make it an ideal piece for the contract market. The raised seams help to define the curved lines of the model. Despite its hefty appearance, Sumo has a small footprint (178cm and 92cm for the sofa and armchair respectively). The wood chosen for the collection is ash, due to its texture and grain. A wide array of stains is available, from natural shades to vibrant colours like pink or yellow. Sumo can be upholstered in fabric as well as artificial or natural leather. No detail has been left to chance: from the extra thick piping that runs across the top of the piece to the special two part cushion. However, the most characteristic element of Talo is in its feet that thrust up under the fabric, like the roots of a mangrove tree just visible above ground level as they form the trunk. The feet are made of oak and can be ordered in a wide range of natural stains or vibrant colours like green or mango. The Senso sofa system is designed by Andersen & Voll. The idea behind Senso is to design a modular sofa system that is flexible, space efficient and facilitates informal meetings between people. The Senso sofa system takes into account the acoustic challenges that one often has in office environments. The modular system stands out due to its space efficiency and its large number of modules that provides creative solutions. The height of the modules meets the requirements for universal design. The design of the base facilitates easy cleaning. Senso seat consists of steel frame with Nozag spring and cold cured foam. Back consists of plywood with cold cured foam. They are into developing alternative solutions and finding new paths instead of just following trends. This easy chair is designed with the ambition of using less material. Traditionally, easy chairs, like other furniture, are based on the idea of quantity, which is not at all updated to our contemporary time. It’s unbelievable, a shame, that quality and status is still valued in terms of size and quantity in cars, sofas, bathrooms etcetera. We developed this chair with a high-tech textile mounted on a mechanical construction, making the easy chair light, while using minimal amounts of material. It’s inspired by camping gear and military furniture. Mopsy (2016) is a sofa table with round and square-shaped tops at different heights in an overlapped combination on the same leg frame. A number of Mopsy tables can be grouped together in the same type of wood or colour, or in a combination of different types of wood and colours. The tabletops and leg frames are made from solid wood. Choose from oak, birch, ash, standard stains on ash and standard colors. For standard colors the tabletop is made in MDF.
