This stool made by the genius Niko Kralj is just one in a long line of such sophisticated and ingeniously designed products. Conceived way back in 1954, the stool remains a concept of elegance. It is distinguished by clean lines and a minimalistic appearance, which, however, does not mean that it is visually boring, but quite the opposite. Due to its cross type construction, which in a unique way connects the remaining elements of the stool, it appears that the upper part of the stool floats effortlessly above the legs. Perfectly connected wood from a technical point of view, aided with the help of only one screw, lends itself to creating a stable and comfortable stool.

It is not often a jewel of a chair is launched. Copenhagen is just that chair. The chair is defiant, but at the same time is soft and harmonic. When Jonas Lindvall created Harrow it was in homage to the tradition of craftsmanship and thus to Stolab. Harrow has a broad backrest made of conical sections that become narrower towards the back legs. This gives Harrow a finished and neat appearance. The covered seat has moulded padding for comfortable sitting. One unique detail in Harrow is the vertical direction of the chair’s wood fibres. This creates a feeling of visual continuity throughout the chair.

The interplay between positive and negative space is central to in Between, Sami Kallio’s chair design for &tradition. Its back and side panels provide
a concrete shape and support, but forms are created equally by the gaps in between them. Kallio’s expertise in traditional woodworking craftsmanship is evident in the chair. Bop has been further developed and is now available with arm rests and also as a bar stool. Bop lives up to the high standards of comfort, durability and adaptability required of a concert chair, but fits perfectly well in other interiors as well. ”When we were redoing the cultural center and creating a larger concert hall we wanted a new concert chair. The development has been a close process between us here at the cultural center, the designers and Offecct”, says Jon Tvilde, head of the cultural center.

This is a studio of architects, city planners and designers, composed of Gian Luigi Banfi, Ludovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressuti and Ernesto Nathan Rogers. “I developed this chair originally for the Bianchi bicycle café here in Stockholm. It’s inspired from the bicycle and sporting worlds and I think it is both Scandinavian and international in its expression. Above all, my ambition was to emphasise the superior handcraft element, with elaborate attention to every detail in the choice of material, the stitching, and other aspects. In 2014 Christophe Pillet and Offecct launched the comfortable and timeless collection Ezy. Originally designed for the famous Pullman Paris Eiffel Tour Hotel, the collection is now supplemented with a new easy chair. “Instead of making something strange, visible and loud, I wanted to make something very normal, simple and elegant. The purpose of the Ezy collection was to make a super functional, normal and long lasting design”, says Christophe Pillet about the origin of the Ezy collection. The successful series is now extended with a new model, a larger, inviting easy chair. The easy chair is available with or without a returnable base.

If you recognize something about the K2 Chair it might be due to the fact that you at some point during your school years sat in Friis & Moltkes model 6000 and struggled with words like proportionality and perfectum participium. Because the K2 Chair is a refinement of the classic school chair model 6000 which Friis & Moltke designed back in the 60’s. Back then the chair sold more than 500.000 copies. The K2 Chair can very well be used in both the class room and the conference room. Furthermore the chair is highly stackable since 50 chairs can be stacked in just 1 metre. If you look closely you’ll notice that the base of the K2 Chair consists of just one pieces of 12 mm steel rod that is brought all the way around. This method creates very round edges that soften the sharp and geometric look. My own vision for the group is that of rocks in the archipelago, where you jump from stone to stone. The table is the hub around which the stools gather. The shapes are organic and individual, inspired by nature, not circular but a bit `squeezed ́. An important element is the tactile contrast between tough textile coating in base and the soft `whipped cream ́ cushion on the top, a cutting edge mix of foam and natural feathers, which posed an interesting technical challenge. This group will be nice in a lobby, for example, but with its soft, pleasant seating, it is also a crossover concept which will fit well in homes. The chair Bergen is designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt. Bergen was originally developed for a project to a university in Bergen, Norway. After further development the chair is now launched in our collection with its inspiring expression. In a certain light you can, by reading the shadow, imagine where Homstvedt found his inspiration - the beautiful windows of the university. “I designed this chair for the competition which I won for the furnishing of the newly renovated auditorium in the Bergen University, originally built in 1894. The imposing window valves in the room were important as inspiration. The shapes are reflected in the square back and the circular seat. The chair’s character lies in the meeting between these two surfaces, giving the impression of floating in the air, with only a small concealed point of attachment. This gives the chair a minimalistic and slender character, with good stacking capacity. The brief for the competition stated that the auditorium must hold four hundred seated audience members, but that it can quickly and swiftly be refurnished for a dinner for a hundred people.” / Hallgeir Homstvedt

The chair Bop is developed by Offecct in collaboration with Norwegian design bureau Knudsen Berg Hindenes. Originally, Bop was designed for USF Verftet, an arts arena for music, theater, film and modern art in Bergen, Norway. USF was established in 1993 and is an important actor within arts and culture in Bergen and Norway with the aim of collaborating, strengthening and participating in the development of culture and creativity. Bop has been further developed and is now available with arm rests and also as a bar stool. Bop lives up to the high standards of comfort, durability and adaptability required of a concert chair, but fits perfectly well in other interiors as well. ”When we were redoing the cultural center and creating a larger concert hall we wanted a new concert chair. The development has been a close process between us here at the cultural center, the designers and Offecct”, says Jon Tvilde, head of the cultural center.
